Questioning the Student Use of and Desire for Lecture Podcasts

Student IPod use. The use of audio files, specifically podcasts, has become more visible and accessible to students in higher education. Despite a lack of pedagogical research on the benefits of podcasting, several universities have adopted the technology of using audio for instruction outside of class and sharing of information.

I like the implied question. Maybe my students next term can give me some feedback.

Talking-head Tv didn't survive the '50s very well. Why should I expect audio without the head do any better?

Good point, especially since so much of DE is still in its experimental stages. Hopefully all of this experimentation is not taking away from the true targets, the student.
